Macarne Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines acceptable and prohibited uses of Macarne’s services. All clients, users, and visitors must comply with this policy. By using our services, you agree to this AUP in full.
1. Purpose
The purpose of this AUP is to ensure a safe, secure, reliable, and lawful environment for all users of Macarne’s services, including IP Transit, Bare Metal Servers, VPS, and DDoS Protection.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Macarne services to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or ordinance
- Engage in illegal, abusive, or unethical activities
- Distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Launch or support denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
- Host or distribute content involving child exploitation or abuse
- Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk communications
- Operate open proxies, open mail relays, or open recursive DNS servers
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data
- Engage in activities that could damage or impair Macarne’s systems, reputation, or customers
3. Network Abuse
The following are considered network abuse and are strictly prohibited:
- Port scanning or vulnerability testing without explicit permission
- Traffic manipulation, spoofing, or falsifying packet headers
- Using Macarne services to operate or control botnets
- Sustained high-volume traffic disrupting shared infrastructure
4. Email Practices
Users must follow these rules regarding email:
- No sending of unsolicited commercial email (UCE/spam)
- No email harvesting or dictionary attacks
- Ensure email systems are secured and not open relays
Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination.
5. Content Restrictions
Macarne prohibits hosting, linking to, or transmitting:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism
- Content that is defamatory, harassing, or hateful
- Phishing pages or sites impersonating others
- Stolen or leaked personal data (e.g., doxxing)
6. Security Obligations
You are responsible for securing your systems and services, including:
- Applying security patches in a timely manner
- Protecting against unauthorized access
- Ensuring proper configuration of firewalls and access controls
We reserve the right to suspend services that pose a risk to our network or other customers.
7. Law Enforcement & Legal Compliance
Macarne cooperates with law enforcement and regulatory bodies. We may disclose user data where legally obligated or if required to prevent harm.
8. Violations & Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning or notice to cease offending activity
- Temporary or permanent service suspension
- Account termination without refund
- Legal action, where applicable
Macarne reserves the right to determine what constitutes a violation and to update this AUP at any time.
