Your Rights Under the GDPR

This page outlines your rights under Articles 15–22 and 34 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Regulation (EU) 2016/679. These rights apply to individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA). This information is provided by Macarne B.V., which acts as the controller of your personal data if you are based in the EEA and use our services.
1. Right to Access
You have the right to know whether Macarne processes your personal data. If we do, you can: - Request access to that data - Learn why we process it and what types of data are involved - Know who your data is shared with - Understand how long we retain your data or how that timeframe is determined You may also request a copy of the data. The first copy is free; additional copies may involve a small fee.
2. Right to Rectification
If your personal data is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request that we correct or complete it without undue delay.
3. Right to Erasure (“Right to Be Forgotten”)
You can request that we delete your personal data if: - It is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected - You withdraw consent (where consent is the legal basis) - You object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds - The data has been unlawfully processed - The data must be erased to comply with a legal obligation.
Note: We may decline your request if processing is necessary for: - Legal compliance - Freedom of expression or information - Establishment or defense of legal claims
4. Right to Restrict Processing
You may request a restriction of processing if: - You contest the accuracy of the data - Processing is unlawful and you prefer restriction over deletion * We no longer need the data, but you need it for legal claims.
- You have objected to processing and verification is pending.
When processing is restricted, we may store the data but not use it unless:
- You give consent
- It is required for legal claims
- It protects someone else’s rights
- It is necessary for important public interest
5. Right to Object
You have the right to object to processing if it is based on: - A task carried out in the public interest or official authority - Our legitimate interests or those of a third party. We will stop processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds. You also have the absolute right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes, including profiling. In this case, we will stop immediately.
6. Right to Data Portability
Where processing is based on your consent or a contract and carried out by automated means, you may:
- Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
- Ask for the data to be transferred directly to another controller, if feasible
7. Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your data rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority in: - The country where you live - The country where you work - The country where the alleged infringement took place.
